NZFurs Chat forum: Hello...

Hi, I've just joined the NZFurry website and I'm pretty knew to the furry fandom. I'm really shy and not good at introductions in anyway, but here goes. I've known I've had a connection to canines for most of my life and I never really knew about furries until my girlfriend introduced me to it. I've decided to get more into the community but my girlfriend and I don't know any other furries in Auckland. So yeah...hi. My fursona is Rex, a dog (Labrador Retriever for the moment) (sorry about the length. Horrible at social stuff)

My girlfriend's named Aylin (fursona name), she's a wolf, she's super cool.
I've tried to get into the NZ Furry FaceBook group but I haven't been accepted into it yet.

Hi Rex and Aylin so glad to know there are other furs near by i'm in the Glenfield area. I think it's neat being a furry because as Fax my fursona I feel so much more at home and giddy as weird as it seems. How did you feel when your fursonas came to the surface? When I chose the name Fax I don't know how to put it, it always just seemed to stick no matter how many times I tried to change it. It is the next me. I have another more skittish side coming to the surface to but I have yet to name it. Will see when it shows itself more in my next suit.

Well, I've always been into werewolves and I've always been connect to dogs, plus my personality is much like a dogs so it was fitting for Rex to be a dog fursona. When I first made him it just felt like another character to me but then I start to get into the character and it grew on me. Then recently, when I got into the fandom, Rex's personality seemed to mix with mine for a bit and I started acting like him. But anyway, I could not see my fursona as anyone but Rex, I love him like a brother and he's very dear to my heart.

I so get that. Fursona soon becomes another part of you but still separate and a furry life of it's own is born. Fax is a Giddy dark coloured wolf that just loves to get into everything and loves to please people. Fax also only wants to live off licorice and chocolate milk even though its not good for her. How did Aylin come in to her name?

Well, I've always loved wolves, and, like my boyfriend, have always had a way with dogs. Aylin came about during an RP (she started as a werewolf character, nothing special), but then I had an awesome experience when I went to a reserve in Scotland (my home country) and saw a pack of seven wolves, one of which walked right up to te fence and stared at me for about 5 minutes. I later found out that he was the Alpha male, and that he didn't usually do that. It was then that Aylin started becoming more representative of myself, adopting my anger issues ect. Eventually I found out about Fursonas and she developed further, until she became the wolf/dragon hybrid she is now.
Her name was kinda a chance thing. I used to play only make characters in everything, games, RPs ect, mostly under the name Aelic. When I made the original Aylin, I just decided to change the name to the gender, hence Aylin. The name really grew on me, and so became the name of my Fursona.

That's really cool. To have an experience like that with such an amazing animal. Fax is curious to know what kind of characters Rex and Aylin are. Siren is also more intrigued about you two. She is my scaly fursona. She is older than Fax though. She loves her crafts and writing where as Fax loves to go out and be seen but not heard. Both are like my sisters. My wolf/dog sis being Fax and my raptor sis being Siren.
Sorry for long talks just so good to talk to others furries close to home. Trying to find if there are any anthrocon in nz at the moment.

Aylin's generally grumpy, and often aggressive, until she's around her very small group of friends (Rex is one of these friends). When she's with them she's carefree, and can be a huge daredevil. She doesn't really understand other's emotions, and feelings, and tends to be ignorant to other's fears (including one incident in an RP when she dropped Rex out of a window, then caught him just before he hit the ground, because she thought he'd find it fun, and toughen him up a bit). She has very few fears, and will do anything for chocolate. She's also a little bit of pyromaniac.

Haha she is most definitely a character. Fax is so into jumping up and down in her seat as she waves her chocolate stash (That she should most definitely not have) to share with Aylin but Siren just shrugged and went to her sun lamp corner. She loves the heat but dislikes such activities that have to do with exercise lol. Though Fax and her get on each others nerves so much they care for one another like family obviously and if it weren't for Fax, Siren would be one lazy as lizard.
How do you roleplay I mean I haven't ever done it before but I get the gist of it.

Aylin will certaintly add Fax to her friends group for some chocolate! XD
We generally RP over Skype, using a group to post in while we talk.

Yay Fax is giddy from chasing her tail in excitement. That's cool how you role play but is it like acting out a skit? Or just made up on the spot?
Fax very really gets new friends so I sent Siren to sit on her to get her keep still till she settles down.. Give her an hour or so. I'll just hide her chocolate stash otherwise she'll get even more hyper as she is such a big foodie. Going to work on Siren's head tomorrow. Need to get more sculpy. Have you seen telephone or a sealep I think it's called.

Rex is a dog who is very timid. He's shy and scared of the big bad outside world. He's not very social and often gets himself into trouble as he's in the wrong place at the wrong time. He doesn't have many friends but when he does, he opens his heart and will love and care for them forever. He embodies my social awkwardness and shyness, also my loving and caring nature. Rex is basically an extreme version of me and that's why I love him like a brother.

We just create a world/adventure base for our RP and just make it up from there, it's really fun.
If you mean the Angel-dragon furry Telephone, then yes, I've seen her. She's super adorable.

Siren and Fax think that Rex sounds like a good furry and think that he sounds like a good genuine canine. Fax is looking for a pack, especially to go to the next Furco and Armageddon with.
I'm trying to make a sketch of Fax tonight, so will see how that goes. What is Rex's and Aylin's colour schemes?

Aylin's black, with red wings, horns, and tail, but she adores fluro paint (mostly blue, green and purple), and tends to go overboard with what she calls 'War Paint'.

Siren's now stuck in a corner getting her scales painted my Fax though instead of war paint she getting a lovely orange moustache. The raptor couldn't say no to those teary puppy dog eyes. Fax isn't good with precision but she is good at getting people to laugh at her to break the tension. She is the little ice breaker and being the good big sis that she is, Siren will always keep her out of trouble and do whatever she can to keep her puppy happy. Even if it means getting her newly scrubbed scales dirty again.
Thanks for giving me more info on how to Rp it makes more sense now. Have you seen any YouTube vids of the anthrocon from America? It shows the dance contest but not what stalls and such they have at the convention.

Rex is glad that Siren and Fax think that about him. Rex has cream fur, chocolate floppy ears and a chocolate circle around his right eye.
When is the next Furco? I've been wanting to go to a furry convention.
